David Groves is the author of the new thriller, What Happens to Us (Aha! Press, July 4, 2013), which is his second book. He got the original idea for the book in 1989 and held it in his head for years before he combined it with several other ideas in 2007.  He wanted to put together a book that was a pageturner, but also delved deeply into character and heartfelt themes.  Combining opposites like that was a challenging task, but fruitful.  His ebook can be downloaded for $3.99 at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DSSN5SU

Previously, David worked as a freelance journalist for such publications as Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, Mademoiselle, American Health, Psychology Today, the LA Times, the NY Daily News, and many other publications on four continents. Did we mention that his thriller has literary aspirations?  He also works as a professional stage magician, and so has vast experience on the subject of deception.

  1. Hi David,

I like the part about you living under a palm tree. Not enough for a heart palpitating scene of sinister deception, but actually I’m a stranger to plot and character anyway.

In fact, I’ve barely tried my hand at fiction beyond twenty lines or so, so it’s always great and impressive to get to know another writer’s work.

Pleased to meet you. And thank you for the read!

  4. Hi David,
Thanks for dropping by my blog and liking it enough to follow it. I’m a bit of a magician too. I’m good at making things disappear. Making them reappear … well that’s a different story 😉
